Madhur Bhandarkar's cinema is always hard-hitting and has a message in them so when he came up with Jail all of us thought it would be on the same lines as his other reality based flicks in the past and to some extent this is true but if you look at the movie as a whole some-how it does not stay with you primarily because of the fact that it has made out to be a little too dragging with many sub-plots.
Its an honest attempt and a sensible flick and the good thing about Jail is that it does not take sides and it tells the story of one character who has been wrongly accused of the crime, we can debate that it has been made out to look a little silly especially the way the movie ends and certain situations in the movie but the director had the heart in the right place while making this one.
Neil Nithin Mukesh has put in an honest and looks the part, Mugdha Godse looks good and under plays her character very well. Arya Babbar is very effective and after Neil his character really stands out and Manoj Bajpayee is alright.
Jail could have been a winner if made with a tighter script but this flick has its loose endings which crop up every now and then but atleast its not as stupid as APKGK..

There are only a handful of sci-fi flicks that our Indian movie industry makes and honestly we don't quite do a good job of it most of the time this movie further proves that point. Its a very interesting concept that the director has that a camera which shows the future whenever you take a picture.
The movie starts off well but then you start to loose interest coz the storyline is so thin that after a point you don't seem to care what is going on I mean the director should have make things a little interesting than the obvious but the credit should go to the director for not dragging the movie even though its not that great the movie does not drag and goes into any melodrama which is good but I guess not good enough coz it wont hold the audience.
As for Neil Nitin Mukesh he is bloody expression less in this movie and does very bad job as compared to his earlier performance in Johnny Gaddar which I liked by the way and as for Bipasha Basu she looks hot and has a great body but again her acting skills are let down by the storyline and Rahuk Dev is alright in whatever he has been given to perform.. so all in all a very interesting concept gone waste.
