After like months and months of crappy and stupid flicks finally we have KURBAAN!! and thank god for that, well actually thank Rensil D'Silva and Karan Johar. The movie is simply outstanding and has been written and treated very intelligently I mean all the aspects are well thought out and the homework has been done to the T.
The main strong point of the movie is of-course the storyline which grips you from the very start and when things move into the second half the movie is in its zone, I am not sure but I think Rensil is a first time director and if he is then he is the "MAN!" and kudos to Karan J for producing such a cool flick.
All the performances are very good but the good thing is that no one trys to hog the limelight and they share all the screen space, I mean yeah Saif and Kareena get most of the footage in the first half especially Kareena but when Vivek Oberoi enters he does a very fine job especially with his accent he is brilliant and very natural, Saif and Kareena are superb they are good actors and after watching this movie you know why also Om Puri is decent and so is Kiran Kher with Diya Mirza in a very small role.
So at the end I will say this and say it again.. u NEED to watch Kurbaan!!

Coming straight to the point this is a fanastic love story of recent times and it was such a delightful watch especially after the horrible experience of Kambakht Ishq I had some weeks back but anyways coming back to LAK its simply mindblasting. I am not going to compare it to Jab We Meet coz its not fair to the director because the 2 flicks have a separate identity even though they fall under the romantic genre.
What makes LAK different is the screen play especially in the first half coz the treatment is so different and it keeps you glued to the screen constantly, Imtiaz Ali is a fantastic story teller which comes across on screen clearly his hold on the subject is very strong and he is the true hero of this project! The basic storyline is one which we have seen and heard a million times in our Indian cinema but what separates LAK from all those love stories is the way it has been told and treatment by the director like I said before plus the soundtrack is awesome which is always a huge plus point when it comes to our movies.
Saif has performed wonderfully portraying his role to the 'T' and he also dons the role of a younger Rishi Kapoor when the movie goes into a flash back telling us what happened when Rishi Kapoor was young and fell in love in those times, the entire plot is handled so beautifully and Saif does complete justice to it, coming to Deepika she look so natural and pretty and handles her part of the movie very well this may be her best performance yet. Rishi Kapoor like always looks natural and effortless and plays quite an important part in the storyline. The best part about the movie for me was a song which shows a change in Saif'sheart about life and love it has been shown so wonderfully well I mean the song is alright but what happens during that song and how he realises his mistake was so neat ly done!
So all in all this is very good movie to watch it's not perfect, but the terrific performances and has something for everyone the youth and as well as the older generation and this one is for the Aam Junta the "Mango People" as Saif says in a scene!!
