I went to see this movie with no expectations coz the promos didn't quite interest me but non the less I had nothing much to do after office so I was like what the heck! So yeah lemme see how best I can describe this one and honestly I think you will only like the movie if you see the first half and then walk out because in the second half it goes completely haywire.

Trust me after the first half finished I messaged one of my friends on my blackberry asking her to go and see the movie now but at the end my opinion had completely changed because the director absolutely destroyed the story and made it completely boring and over dramatic and yeah he even had Michael Jackson in the movie (A fake one ofcourse). So yeah it was a good concept and a cool story about four friends who want to get rich in life but what eventually became of the movie is really sad.

Anyways like I said you will enjoy the first half and get really bored and annoyed in the second, if this sounds like something you want to do then be my guest!

All that is going on in my mind right now is "Dhan Tan Nan!!".. the tune is so catchy and after you have seen the movie you just fall in love with it again and again.. this is probably the most anticipated movie of the year so far and the wait was definitely worth it! Vishal B. is and always will be one of the finest story-tellers in our Indian cinema, this guy has got talent and not just in movie direction but in all departments.. a true Genius!!

The movie is a complete departure from what we are use to when it comes to our movies, I mean the pace, the editing, the dialogues are so in sync with the entire storyline that its mind-blasting how a director can keep track of so many things. This is one movie you will have to not only bring our brains to the movie hall but use it too coz the plot and the characters are so complex that you cant take your eye off the screen. It starts off with all the characters being established and what there existence is all about and what they want from life and with that done Vishal B throws some pretty cool twists and turns one after the other and somehow everyone in the movie is after a guitar which makes for a very interesting climax which by the way is so well written, to have about 14 or odd characters come together at the end must have been a very difficult task but the director does this with complete ease like I said a mark of a genius!

As far as performances go Shahid Kapoor and his portrayal of Guddu and Charlie is out of this freaking world, he does not go over-board with either of the characters and does not make them look comical and after a point in your mind you start believing that they are two different people playing the part which is no mean task, I think this movie should bring him not only critical acclaim but heaps of awards this year which he completely deserves.Another character which stands out is of Amole Gupte playing the mean gang-lord turned politician he has got some wicked lines in the movie and carries it off beautifully, Priyanka Chopra seems to have the Midas touch off late coz all her recent movies have done so well for her as an actress and this one is no different, she plays a typical Maharastrian girl in love with Gudddu's character and gives a completely honest performance. Last but not the least I would like to mention the actor who plays the role of Mikhail and is Shahid Kapoor's best friend.. Chandan Roy this is one actor to watch out for even though his role is not full blown as some of the other characters he shines in whatever his given and sometimes even outshines Shahid Kapoor is some scenes!!

So all in all if you don't watch this masterpiece then you are missing out on one of the finest movies made in Indian cinema off late...so stop reading my blog now and book your tickets!!
